Dear Prospective Sponsors,

We would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the Southern Ontario Firefighters Curling Association. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting good fellowship amongst firefighters through the sport of curling. Our membership includes hundreds of Firefighters and Fire Department support staff, professional and volunteer, from Windsor to Ottawa and north of North Bay including past Canadian and World Curling Champions Ed Werenich and the late Neil Harrison.

Our membership forms part of the Canadian Firefighters Curling Association, a dream of BC firefighter Aubrey Neff who in 1958 began his quest to organize the Dominion Firefighters Curling Championship.

1958 - Provincial Associations form in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
1959 - Provincial Playdowns held in four Provinces.
1960 - A five province Dominion Championship held in Regina. Southern Ontario represented.
1961 - A six province Championship held in Winnipeg.
1962 - First All Star Awards were presented.
1964 - An eight province Championship held in Vancouver.
1969 - A ten team Championship hosted in Scarborough.
1973 - Northwest Territories competed for the first time in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
1983 - Newfoundland sent representation to the event hosted in Brampton.
1999 - CFFCA partners with Muscular Dystrophy to raise funds and awareness.
2001 - Newfoundland and Labrador hosted for the first time in St. John's.
2009 - 50th Championship held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
2017 - 58th Championship to be hosted by Southern Ontario Firefighters Association

Mr. Neff's dream had become a reality, the Canadian Firefighters Curling Association www.CFFCA.ca. This is the only competition that gathers firefighters from every province and territory in Canada to compete for a national championship. Every province and territory has now hosted this event.

This year we offer sponsorship opportunities through our 2017 Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship program booklet, which will circulate with our members to their fire halls, curling clubs and places of work in communities across the Province and Canada with some local television coverage through Rogers. Your support will help strengthen our commitment to Muscular Dystrophy and continuing Aubrey’s dream.

To sponsor our Championship and to join our host committee as we work towards the 58th National Championship to be hosted in Mississauga, Ontario in 2017, please visit our web site at www.SOFFCA.com, consider the following sponsorship options, or contact me.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Sincerely,

Ross Hammill
